View Full Version : ActiveSync says I have an appointment on 9/9/99 that won't sync

When I try to sync with my desktop at home I get an error that I have 49 unresolved appointments. When I try to resolve them, I get an error message that the above apointment can't be synced with the desktop Outlook because the start field is invalid or something like that. It tells me to clear this field on my ppc if I want to sync this appointment with my desktop.

Here is the funny thing. I have gone to this date, both 1999 and 2099, in both Outlook and on my ppc and there are no appointments for this date. I can't fix something that isn't there.

This isn't an issue at the office, when I sync here all goes well with no issues. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am thinking about just doing a hard rest this weekend to fix it, but I don't really relish that option. :)

This started btw, when Dell sent me a replacement X3i. I didn't pay any attention when I did a complete restore from the previous day. Sprite Backup gave me a message about the current ppc has a different ROM version and do I want to continue. I just said yes because I was in a hurry and wanted my ppc back up in running and I wasn't thinking. Could this have caused this issue? Other than the above sync problem at home, the unit is running just fine.

Thanks,
-Eric

If the sync works at the office, then try killing the partnership and PST at home, and try a "fresh" sync.

(Also, you can try looking at your calendar at home via the Category view. It lists everything much more nicely.)

Janak,

Thanks for the advice. I will try deleting the partnership later this evening and we will see what happens.

Again Thanks!

Be careful -- the partnership isn't enough itself. If you don't clear out the Calendar at home when you create a new partnership, you'll have conflicts and duplicates. I personally nuke my home PST because it contains nothing important that my Pocket PC doesn't have, but if you don't want to do that, at least visit the Calendar (once you've deleted the partnership) and empty it out first via one of the list views...

Ok, so I looked this afternoon into this and I fixed a few of the un resolved appointments, but I still have the one that is on 9/9/99 with a Subject of BC-Financial. I have done a search in both Outlook and in PI for BC-Financial and both give me zero hits on this subject. However, activesync still says that this particular appointment can not be synced with my desktop Outlook because of an error. It tells me to clear the start field on my ppc in order to sync this appointment.

Any other thoughts?
