Does anyone have experience with Pocket Lan or any other progs for wifi sniffing, etc? I have been trying Pocket Winc, and like it so far. I saw a thread for the 4355 that mentioned an interference with HPs built in wireless prog., however. I can't seem to find any threads about the other programs.

I have a 4155.

Search on pocketwarrior, this is a very nice program that you can use with a gps.

What does pocket WinC allow you to do that the built in utility doesn't? How do they coexist (I also have a 4150).

Pocket Winc is pretty nice.

What it does is list all the networks that are available and shows you whether they are open/wep enabled... etc..

You can also specify one to connect to and check if internet access is available. It provides a nice UI for it.

PocketWiNc works great with it, PocketWarrior doesn't even see the card.

vxsniffer (http://www.cam.com/vxsniffer.html) will let you view(non-encrypted) IP pachet information and export it. You can see what other people are doing, ie what is in the IP pachets they are sending. This is only for troubleshooting mind you.

i'm partial to Toshiba's ConfigFree (http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_dtlViewDL.jsp?soid=627233&moid=null&ct=). i'm not sure what cards are supported by it, but it definitely makes connecting to hotspots much easier than the built in mechanism of WM2003.

Correct, to a point.... When using the Ambicomm drivers Pocket Warrior doesn't see the card, however using the Senao drivers with the Ambicomm card, it works fine.

I use Pocket Boingo. It works with the Ambicom and SanDisk cards and the internal WiFi on the 4155.
