Free Preston and Child ebook: Hex

While surfing around seeking information about the two authors Preston and Child, I stumbled over their free web-ebook called Hex:

However, there is no ending chapter, only ending ideas: their own and the winners of a competition between the readers.

And if you are a fan of the successful pair, you might love to look at the background material to each of their books, including how they work together despite being some 2000 miles apart.

I have now read it. Well written like all their books. The ebook is unfinished not just in terms of the missing finale, but also in terms of writing: some stuff is outdated, more detail would have been added etc. Child has commented most episodes. Definitely a good read.

*** SPOILERS AHEAD:

They are a bit far out in terms of what a hacker can do (a virus cannot just jump out of a data file). Also I don't believe it is possible to deliberately start a fire be letting a harddrive run warm.
