I've had my 2215 less than a month using the case it came with. That was OK but I just bought and received the belt type nylon case from HP. The first time I tried putting the 2215 in the case, it pulled up and ripped the rubber on one side at the bottom where it tapers.

I was worried about these rubber holders when I first bought the 2215.

ARe others having problems with this?

(PS I hope Amazon will exchange the unit. HP sales directed me to tech support and after waiting 20 minutes they told me I'd have to transfer to a special Pocket PC section and that line told me a longer wait was coming so I gave up. I hope Amazon comes through.)

So what's with the rubber?

Tks

The rubber grip fiasco has been a problem for a loong time. There are a few threads you can check out:

Basically all you can do is call HP and ask for replacement grips, there's a part number in one of those threads I believe, and you'll have to ask for that part number. It took me a 15 minute call to order one set of replacement grips, and since you're still udner warranty you will get them shipped free. (if you can't find the part number just do a search for "rubber grip part number" and I'm sure you'll find it.)

The other option is to spend quite a few bucks on Aluminum grips, I can't justify the price of these but it does seem like a simple and permanent solution, so just check this thread out for that:
