There seems to be an odd bug that if you close windows media player while it is playing a song, it often kills all sound on the device until a soft reset.

I have had this same problem on Casio Em500, Ipaq 36xx and my newest ppc Ipaq 2215. All three had different versions of windows media player. In college I would play songs through a tape deck from my ppc. (same as a portable cd player i just used my ppc). :) worked pritty good just had the problem you discribe.

when you were playing media, perhaps you lowered the system volume on accident. Check on that next time.

The volume is not the issues, infact the volume button becomes a bit unresponsive after the fact. It only happens when I close with the windows media player without stopping the song. I just recreated the problem 10 per 10 times as a test...

No such issue on my 4155. Closing WMP while in use has no affect on the sound. Do you have any other apps running that interact with your sound drivers? BTW, my WMP ver is 9.0, build is 13100, which came with the 2003 OS.
Good luck :way to go:
