I have Money 2002 on the desktop, but a new iPaq 1940.
I have followed the tip to install MS Pocket Money 2004 onto my iPaq, and have been looking for the download of Pocket Money that would work with Money 2002.
I can find Pocket Money 2003 - but that needs Money 2003. Any one know where I can find the download for Money 2002?
Thx.

It seems that you should be able to use the 2003 version of Pocket Money based on this http://www.microsoft.com/money/support/downloads/previous.asp

I have tried to install the 2003 version, and I get a message that I don't have money 2003 installed. I proceed with the install anyway - and one of the resultant text files states that you need Money 2003 on the desktop.
1: System Requirements
On Pocket PC:
? Pocket PC 2002
? 500K available program memory on Pocket PC
On desktop PC:
? Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP operating system
? 70MB available hard disk space (170MB if Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 is not installed)
? 16MB RAM
? Multimedia PC with a Pentium 90 or higher processor
? ActiveSync 3.1 or later
? Microsoft Money 2003 (US, Canadian, UK and ROW versions only)
So the linked page offers compatibility with 2002, but it actually doesn't!

I ran into the same issue when I upgraded to WM03. I actually called MS and was told by tech support that as long as the the desktop version of money was the same or next year that the pocket verion would fuction. So for Pocket Money 2003 to work you would need to use Money 03 or 04.
I'm using Money 04 on my desktop and Pocket Money 03 without any issues. Same with Money 03 and Pocket Money 02.
That's been my experience. Hope it helps.

Here is a cut and paste from another forum where I was able to install Money on my 2215
1. With the PPC in the cradle and ActiveSync running, start the installation of Pocket Money for Money 2003 on the desktop.
2. Go through the normal install routine, following the prompts on the desktop machine.
3. When the PPC pops up an error message, don't clear it. Instead, open File Explorer on the PPC. (I don't know if the error message needs to remain open, but without having experimented, I suggest leaving it on screen for now.)
4. Browse to "My Device /Windows /AppMgr /Install" and tap-and-hold on the file that is in that folder. (This is the one caveat... your folder may end up being different, but something tells me that this is the folder you should look in). The file should be obviously related to Pocket Money.
5. When the menu appears, choose copy.
6. Still using File Explorer on the PPC, browse to "My Device /Temp" and paste the file in this new folder.
7. Once the file appears in this new folder, single tap the file. The installation will begin on its own.
8. Close the error message from the original installation.
9. Remove the PPC from the cradle. Check the settings for the Money Conduit in ActiveSync, place the PPC back into the cradle, and away you go.
At this point, it should be working like a charm. Money shows up in the uninstall listing on the PPC, but I actually don't know if it will work or not. Good luck!
Oops! Sorry, but I forgot the final few steps:
1. After you have successfully installed Money, with the PPC in the cradle, explore the PPC (use Explore from within ActiveSync).
2. Browse to "My Device /Windows" and look for "MoneyCE".
3. Right click on this file and choose "Create a shortcut".
4. Move this shortcut to "My Device /Windows /Start Menu /Programs" to finish the install.
5. Rename this new shortcut as "Microsoft Money".
That should be everything. The today plug-in won't work, but I have been able to do everything else. Hope this helps!!

I have the same issue, any version of the MS download that is higher than 2002 wouldn't recognize my Money 2002 installation on the desktop.
Does anybody have the old download somehwere?
Thanks!

8) I tried to install Money 2003 to my iPaq 1945 through a regular download, but of course it did not work. If you have the same problem, try the "copy and paste" method.
You guys rock!
