display text on today screen?

I am looking for a program (freeware if possible) that lets me display text on the today screen. Specifically I have a system of learning new vocabulary and quotes every day and would like to have a program that allows me to write in my word or quote and display it on the today screen.

I have been looking but cannot find a program that does this.

Here are a few Today plug-in's that allow you to display text on the screen. The first two are shareware and the last few are freeware. I believe all of them allow you to edit the quote file to whatever you want or in the case of the last one display whatever you want.

Thank you for your help, but aside from the scarybear none of those are exactly what I want.

I just want to type plain text and have it show up on my today screen. Some of those are set up to do other tings, or look to weird - I don't want any background images or any scroll bar (that isn't necessary).

I just want to type in a word, it's definition and have it show up on my today screen. Makes me wish I new how to program - doesn't seem like it would be to hard to do - just make a program that has an imput box to put in what you want (maybe underline, bold, and italic capabilities - hit ok and it goes onto the today screen.

Maybe this will be the start of a new hobby.
