Has anyone had any any experience of the following System and Battery Usage monitoring/recording programs (or, indeed, any others?

I've downloaded a few on trial:

Super Tasks by Softwareandson
Pocket Battery Analyzer by Anton Tomov
Battery Monitor by PDAWin
PPC Usage by Dooblo

I'd appreciate recommendations/ones to avoid, and any comments. I'm looking for ones that operate in the background, and don't require constant display on the Today screen (having already got Owner Today, Battery Pack, Program Bar, and PI Today showing).

A piece of extra information - I have an iPAQ 5550 with a CF Card Expansion Pack Plus (i.e. with battery), and I want to find out when the external battery is feeding the main battery.

I use Icbar. It gives enough indication for my usage. http://www.ictinus.com/icbar/

I used to use tdymeters on the today screen - very nice! http://www.pocket.at/pocketpc/todaymeters.htm

I've actually plumped for:

SuperTasks by Softwareandson
Pocket Battery Analyzer by Anton Tomov

together with:

Pocket Mechanic by Anton Tomov

I recommend SuperTasks for anyone who needs to see what's happening - it provides a monitor on the toolbar, which, when tapped, opens the main window.

By the way, does anyone know what filesys.exe does/is doing?

iant54,

You may want to try Battery Pack 2004 by Omega One. You can download the trial version at the following link: http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&jid=97A9X7AB951D7D579C69879279AC36F8&platformId=2&productType=2&productId=24948

Hope this helps.

I used Omega in the past and it is very convenient with its Program bar.

I now use the Monitor that comes with Sprite Backup because it can trigger backups but I keep program bar for launching programs.

There are many battery monitors and they all work more or less in a similar way. What is in a way important is the kind of complementary services you would like to have with the monitoring of the battery...

This is the one I use too. I've found it's quite good at modifying the time expected for the battery to last depending on your usage.

I also use OmegaOne's Battery Pack. Its battery meters are intuitive, and it comes with a bunch of other useful utilities, including a Temporary Files cleaner and a Today screen program bar.

I have both Battery Pack and Sprite's offering, but what I was after was something for tracking battery usage, rather than showing what I have remaining.
