uninstalling a font without activesync

Ran into a problem getting rid of a Japanese font (MS-Gothic) from RAM. Tried the usual soft reset, but the font was still active. It wouldn't uninstall using the PPC uninstall procedure. They say to do it via the PC/activesync. Unfortunately I can't use activesync on this machine, so everything goes via CABs onto a storage card.

Any way to avoid activesync and get this massive waste of RAM off my ipaq2210?

rename the font with a different extension, ie font.ttf.old

soft reset

you can now delete the file.
