I installed the ArcSoft Photo Base software that came with my new Toshiba e405. The app is ok, but the icon that it uses for jpeg files is really ugly. I'd to go back to the icon the jpegs used to have when they were associated with Internet Explorer. Someone with a registry editor: please tell me what the value in your HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > jpegimage > DefaultIcon key is.

Thanks in advance.

On my Ipaq 2215:

String - "iPAQIV.exe,0" (without the quotes)

Thanks, but I don't have an iPAQ. I need to hear from someone who views jpegs with pocket internet explorer. I guess I should have been clearer in my first post.

Hope that helps

Changing HKCR\jpegimage\DefaultIcon\Shell\Open\Command\ to iexplore.exe file:%1 will also restore jpegs to Pocket Internet Explorer.

This also works on an iPAQ (tested on my 5555) and allows you to copy the file location to an appointment note, or to a contact note. Say you have a meeting in another city, you can copy a map from the web to your PocketPC tap on the jpeg in Pocket File Explore to open the link in PIE and copy the file location from the address bar, and paste it into your note. A great way to add a quick link to a photo to your contacts, or a map to your calendar.

The thing is, I'm happy with the jpegs opening in PhotoBase by default. I just wanted the old icon back. Now I've got it.
