Here's a question for all you ipaq owners. What is your favourite ipaq model and why? Mine would still have to be the 4350: a built-in keyboard is a necessity not an option for me. Its also got great multimedia capabilities, bluetooth, wi-fi.etc. the lot. Although it is a tad long, like a compact limousine.
(By the way can someone give me the names of the full range of ipaqs currenly available so I can construct a poll? :) )

I've had several and hands down is the iPAQ 5555. 128MB Ram, BT, WiFi. Don't really needs the built in keyboard since I have a Targus compact foldable keyboard.

It's hard for me to separate the PPC from the OS. Each new generation of hardware and software seems like two steps forward and one back.
My first iPAQ was a 3630. I kept a CF sleeve (SS2) on it, and had a WiFi card and a Supplynet cable to connect to a cell phone. PIE was very fast using Bluekite compression and my Sprint phone. The only bad things were battery life and the inability to read copy-protected Microsoft Lit books.
My second was a 38xx. That was the only bad one. The screen was quite dark and it had many spontaneous hard resets; I only kept it for six months.
My third was a 3970, and it was great. Very stable and it had a great screen and bluetooth. Other than still requiring a sleeve for WiFi and still not having a replaceable battery (although battery life was pretty good), the only really annoying thing was that PIE had taken a step backwards in speed (made worse by the disappearance of Bluekite compression).
Now I have a 5555. The built-in Wifi and extra memory are great and I finally have a bluetooth Sprint phone so I can ditch the cable, but the screen is less responsive and the d-pad fussier than the 3970. Also, the bluetooth is flakier, at least with Mapopolis; you have to remember to turn off GPS in Mapopolis before turning off the iPAQ or it will lock up. The volume has been decreased, so it's hard to hear the GPS directions without an external speaker. And PIE has not gotten faster.
My wishlist for the next iPAQ is VGA, a 4 inch screen, more volume, and faster PIE.

Of all the iPAQs I've owned (3765, 3835, 3955, 5455, 5555, 4155) my favorite is the 4155, because it does so much in such a small package. My previous favorite was the 3955, because it it was the most rock-solid and trouble-free of all of them.

the 2215 is my baby. But the 3970 was my all time favorite. The screen on that thing was noooo joke.
I've never had an Ipaq, just because there has yet to be one that meets my needs.
If the 5550 had a CF slot, I'd have one.
If the 2215 had 128MB and WiFi, I'd have one.
If I had to buy one, I'd get a 5550 with SilverSlider CF and battery thingy.

I had the 3635 w/CF sleeve. Kept the sleeve and now have the 3955 and it is great, especially with WM2003.

quick question: (a bit off topic to the root question but not far off of the thread topic) those of you who had 2215's and switched to 4150's, do you like the change to a 4150?
I like my 2215, its probably the best ive had, though my 3970 was spectacular.

yes, i did like the change. the added wifi/bt, and super small size was absolutly great. The battery was even a little bit stronger on the 4155.

2215 is my fave OVERALL. Good design (except for d pad), fits well in hand, but still powerful! The screens not the best, but its pretty decent.

Probably the main reason stopping me buying previous pocket pcs or palms (apart from the price and the fact I didn't really need one) was the lack of a built-in keyboard. Only a month ago I was going to buy a Palm Tungsten C but then saw the HP ipaq 4350 and its probably the best thing (apart from my PC) I've ever bought.

3970 was the best one without a doubt.
Rock solid. I now have a 5555, and although I love having more RAM, and built in WiFi, I don't like the screen responsiveness, nor the low speaker volume.

I don't have any problems with the screen responsiveness in the 4350. And you can't really expect much from the tiny speakers: by the way you can connect your pocket pc to your computer speakers.

I've had the 3835, 2215, and currently the 4355. The 4355 is the best hands down-integrated bt/wifi, keyboard, thin size and huge battery are all great and I think that this is the device that I will keep for a long time.

so i think most of us agree that the 3955/3970 was the best overall. You put the that thing in the silver slider and turn the screen all the up....OH MAN!!! it was like hdtv in your pocket. Not to mention, its by far the most stable ipaq i've ever owened. When that second rom update came out, not could go wrong. LONG LIVE 3970!!! The next ipaq to come out with dual card slot better have the same screen as the 3970 or i will be slapping hp employees!

I've owned a 3850, 3955, 1945, and a 2215. The 2215 is by far my favorite, I love the dual slots and the form factor.

Just came over from a Palm M515 to a H5555.
Still trying to get some things working but I love this thing.
Since I haven't had any other PPC's...I'll go with the H5555 :)

I've only had two iPAQs - the 1910 and the one I'm ustng now and there is no contest!
The 4155 is the best. Form factor is probably THE biggest factor for me in a PDA and this has more in a great form.

Here's a question for all you ipaq owners. What is your favourite ipaq model and why? Mine would still have to be the 4350: ...:) )
My fav is also 435x. I am typing this note on the keyboard right now (my computer is completely dead and i am totally reliant on this until april :( ), for me it is also critical, that and wifi. Without this thing i would have to go to the library everyday to read my email.
