The device will be using the latest Intel processor Bulverde 312MHz. They claim processor highest speed can go up to 500 Mhz. It comes also with 64MB ROM and 64 MB RAM, SD card slot, 3.5” 64K TFT screen with 320 X 240 resolution, LI-Ion Polymer 1.6Ah battery, USB port and built in Bluetooth. The size of this device is 130 x 70 x 20mm. The only drawback on this device that it is running Win CE 4.1 OS."<br /><br />The photo above must be a very rough mock-up, because it's a Pocket PC 2000 screen shot from three years ago - and Pocket PC Dubai says it's running Windows CE .NET 4.1. Anyone heard of this OEM?

Interesting device. GPS is one of those killer applications in a mobile device, see the success of the otherwise unknown Median PocketPC when bundled with a GPS receiver.

This looks like a cool focused device, which is good for expanding ppc's beyond just PDA users. It also looks like it may have been ruggerized a bit, which is always good for something you may take hiking. I'm sure it will ship with the latest OS, I dont see any point or reason they would use a very old or specialised win CE version. The photo is probably just a mock-up.

My only reservation is the battery, which should really be beefier for a unit which may be used continuously for an extended period of time.

ADCOM's IT Manager just sent me an email and he confirmed it is running Windows CE 4.1 and they are negotiating with Microsoft to use the latest Pocket PC 2003

It is planned to be released in June.

I'm guessing this isn't the same Adcom that makes my amp.

For a device with GPS capability, and I assume map too, it would be wise to have higher resolution. Something in the 480x640 range.
