Here is something cool,

how many computers do you have in your house? This inlcudes Desktops, Laptops and Pocket PCs.

In our house we have:

8 Desktops (12 if you include "inactive" desktops")
3 Laptops
1 Pocket PC (mine of course!)

How about you?

-Justin.

Are we talking operable? How much stuff grouped together in a limited space, constitutes a non-working PC, as opposed to a tightly coupled conglomeration of parts.

Just trying to get the ground rules down here ;)

If less than 50% of the PCs in your house work, you might be a Redneck Geek?

Well, if we're talking about NON-working PC's, add 3 to my list. Strangely enough, the 8088 is still running... 8)

Only if one of them is primered.

Well, technically the term 'computer' would encompass a huge range of things: since a many things have computers in them mobile phones, calculators, VCRs heck even Microwave ovens. But pedanticism aside, we currently have, let's see:

5 Desktop Computers:

Mine:
Custom made, P4 2.4GHz, 512MB RAM, GeForce 4 19" Viewsonic
but can' t connect to internet for some unknown reason
The others:
550MHz, 64MB RAM Custom built, 50GB HDD

300MHz, 64MB RAM (custom built (my Pocket PC is faster than it!)

And of course, the ipaq 4350 pocket pc

And I don't know the specs of the other two.

We used to have a laptop and a my dad had a very old PC. I should post a pic soon...

Mine
1 x AMD 2600, 512mb Ram, ATI 9600, 500GB HDD space, wifi, 10/100 network, lots of little goodies - Windows XP
1 x PII 300mhz, 128mb Ram - usually running Redhat, but has XP
1 x PII 166 MMX, 96mb Ram laptop - running W2k

Dual monitor, with the 2nd monitor on a KVM switch to the 2nd desktop

Others
3 x desktops, all +1ghz
1 x 3.2ghz P4 laptop
1 x desktop, 133, 64mb Ram - running smoothwall!

and of course, my Ipaq 3950

http://www.same-difference.co.uk/comp.jpg for a pic of my setup!
Not bad for a student eh?
