OK I just received my previously enjoyed Axim x5 and have played with it all day yesterday. Been browsing here ther and everywhere and have a few questions to ask.......hope you can help and thanks for your time...
1. Databases, I want ot build a few like on my old Palm and ThinkDB, how can I do this on PPC.
2. What's the best ebook reader?
3. Any MUST HAVE programs?
4. Suggestion on fun usages of my Axim?
Again Thank You very much for responding (if you do)

1) HanDbase
2) uBook (free from Gowerpoint.com)
3) Must have either Pocket Informant or Agenda Fusion
Sprite Pocket Backup Premium, Laridian Pocket Bible.
Some of the first programs I install after a hard reset are the ones above, and for today screen plug-ins: CLaunch, TAgenda
4) Having an SD slot and a CF slot opens up all kinds of possibilities for you. I would buy a 128-512MB SD card for your programs, ebooks and such, leaving the CF open for a CF GPS receiver, CF WiFi card, CF FM radio card, or one of many other peripherals availble in the CF format.
Having had a PPC for more than 3 yrs now, I'm kind of over the amazement of what it can do. I use mine mostly for reading ebooks, remote control for my home theater, and GPS in the car.

as far as eBook readers are concerned, many people use mobipocket and palm reader for pocketPC. I don't want to leave these out, but I will explain why I choose ubook over these.
Ubook can read any palm document, as well as any .html,.rtf, or .txt file.
As many people will tell you, the built in pocket Word, is lacking, but if you only want the document for viewing, you can take any document you can open in word on your desktop, save it as .txt or .rtf, and open it in uBook.
Now, Mobipocket can read these same files, and is nicer looking in my opinion, but where uBook shines, is that you can zip your ebooks, and read them right from the zip file. This is a big difference on your storage card space.
