Whenever I go to a website that has an embedded video (.wmv is all I've seen) or any embedded audio, IE6 gives me an error and closes all open IE windows as soon as the media file tries to load/play. This is a real pain, Have any of you encountered this problem or have an idea of how to fix it? I just set up my new computer from scratch, so I have no clue what's doing this. I'm dling the latest XP/WM patches, so I'll tell you if that works. Thanks.

I had a similar problem when I installed the Nimo Codec pack. It casued very similar problems. In fact, it made Media Player unusable as well.
Once I removed Nimo Codec pack the problem when away.

If you've got some time and patience you can probably work out which codec is causing the problem. It'll take a lot of de-installing and re-installing.
I've found that just installing a DiVX pack is enough and I'm not missing all the other stuff Nimo provides
