Okay so I'm watching some multimedia on my new 256MB SD card, and suddenly the backlight goes down (not off). So I hop over to Options and it won't let me turn the backlight all the way up. At this point the battery was only at 70 percent and I want to finish my movie with good video! Blyech! Help?

Settings -> Power -> Control should be all you need to change. Does it do the same thing if you're actively using it (playing a game, writing, etc.)?

Yeah, and it doesn't let me get the backlight back up.
Now your suggestion ... there's nothing there. All I have is
On Battery Power:
( ) Turn off device if not used for
( ) Enable battery charging from USB
Oh AC adapter power:
( ) Turn off device if not used for
Am I missing something? :devilboy:

How about SYSTEM -> BRIGHTNESS -> BATTERY POWER ?
"Dim if device is idle for more than.." should NOT be checked.

You may not be missing something, but it seems that I am.
First of all I do not have a System >Power > Control. All I have is
System > Power with 3 tab options: Main, Standby and Advanced.
When I go into Advanced I have:
On Battery Power: Turn off Device.
BUT there is no "Enable Battery charging from USB".
Has this option been added with the new ROM version?
I didn't do the ROM upgrade because of all the problems people were having. Being new to the PPC world, I don't want take any un-necessary chances for minor feature upgrades.

Paula, the ROM varies from device to device as well as from ROM version to ROM version.
I personally find Dell's 2002 ROM much easier than their 2003.

Sorry man, but Dell's 2003 ROM update is MUCH faster then the 2002 version. I Would greatly recommend a update, you'll notice a big diffrence.

There is a small program on this site called 'KeepAlive' which simulates keyboard activity to keep the system active. Very nice.
