Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can help as my wireless dream is slipping away!
I have purchased a HP4150 Ipaq which is v.nice but am a novice user...

I have a wireless LAN at work which my laptop already uses.

When using my ipaq, the network displays as available, tries to connect, then displays as available again... I have entered the same configuration as my laptop and used the same WEP key but to no avail..

Can anyone point me in the right direction...

Thanks..

Don

A few guesses:

*Try making and using a different key with your 4150. Might be as easy as that.
*Maybe turn off WEP for a few hours to see if your PPC can connect then.
*Double check the network settings on your device.
*If all else fails, turn off everything for a few minutes and turn it all back on (router, cable/DSL modem, etc.)

depending on where you are, try finding a free WiFi cafe or similar (easier in the US) and connect to that. this will tell you if you are doing something wrong with your general setup.

generally though if you can see the network SSID (assuming it's not hidden) then you're ok, and it will simply be an issue with the WEP key.

DonCould your SystAdmin have set up a Mac Address Access List? You may need to give him your Mac Address to add to the list.
