Interesting...

I have in front of me, a Sony Clie. "So what?" you say. Remember the "flip cover" rumors? Well, I'll tell you what I think! The Clie has cutouts in the back that are very similar to the 2215 (not as wide apart). I really do think HP was going to copy the Clie leather flip at one time, but decided to drop it...

So what do you think? Was it HP's intention to "copy" this type of flip for the 22xx series?

sony is not the only pda mfr with leather flip cover. The palm t3 has it, too. I just wish afew ppcs had a hard or soft flip cover.

Does it have the same type of flip connector? Didn't mean to leave out Palm, but I just saw the Clie...

They said they were going to early on when the 22xx was being released, then that statement must have been pulled. I would love to have had a flip, and I hope PPCTechs does come up with something that integrates with their new side grips.

This still bugs me. One of the greatest snafus when they abadoned the old Jornada was to also get rid of that design team. They (HP) could have done well to just integrate the two groups (Compaq and HP) together. No one questions the brand equity or the inovativeness of the original iPaqs, but those in the PPC world know that the Jornada line of devices had some very unique and compelling benefits about them too. We have yet to see any new devices that really maintain any of the Jornada strengths.
