upgrade 2002 to 2003

I remember there was this big HooHaw about Toshiba NOT allowing owners of the 300's series of PPCs to upgrade their ROMS.

I know the higher end machines were given the upgrade.

I've settled down my rage a bit, and have been cowed into accepting my PPC as-is.

But now my gamma radiation enhanced rage is stirring up again...

Is there a way to upgrade an e330, for example, to the 2003 ROM????

What about my new e550G on WM2002? Can I get a free upgrade or something legally?

Only if Toshiba releases one. There isn't such a thing as a "generic" upgrade -- the ROM image must be customized to the device's hardware.

In other words, I don't think it's likely for either. :(

The ONLY Toshibas that are upgradeable are the few E750s that were released before WM2003 came out and they still had PPC 2002 on them. Toshiba has stated there will be no upgrade for e740 or e3xx series devices and no one has figured out how to get around this.
