I like it. I'm a big fan of the sub-notebook form factor. I'd really love a Tablet PC that size.

I like the form factor but...

With CE.NET I think the list of available applications would be rather thin for a general purpose device like this. No MS Office apps - only viewers according to the specs. Very few developers are targeting CE.NET, most are using the Pocket PC environment. Perhaps as more apps are developed using .NET cf we'll see more device portability, but for now I think you'd be stuck with what comes in the box.

This thing would've been cool 3 years ago. With today's devices, it's underwhelming for many reasons:

1. Screen doesn't take up the entire footprint.
2. No 802.11b/g
3. No bluetooth
4. A 7" screen like that should provide at least 1024x600 resolution.
5. Battery life is too short.
6. Screen doesn't fold around for a tablet mode.
7. WinCE.NET. No thanks.
8. Weighs 27 ounces! That's way too much for a device like this... it should be half that.
9. Uses a 206 MHz StrongARM CPU.

I wish we had money to throw at these people, I'd love a useful one of these. Something with a 500 mhz processor, 128 megs of ram, 1024x600 screen, screen that covers the entire footprint as was said, wireless capabilities, and some other things... It would be incredible. As it is, though... I don't see the use of it, except for with really un-demanding customers.

I don't know if they make them anymore but my heart was set on a Sony Picture Book at one time... what a great looking little device... sort of a subnotebook with a built-in camera... 1024x480 screen... etc...

I loved that little machine... I just wish I had the money at the time to buy one...

Hell, a 5-year old Toshiba Libretto beats the snot out of this in usability... What the hell were they thinking?? This would have been cool three years ago, yes, but at an unacceptable price point and feature set, so why even bother bringing it out now?....
