I've asked just about everyone I know, but still don't have a clue. I purchased a P5010D and did a fresh reload of XP Pro. But in Device Manager, I still have a generic 'base system device' that needs a driver.
And does anyone know how to make sure the USB ports are running at 2.0?

Maybe try the fujitsu site to get the drivers for your machine. I check it frequently for new drivers for my T3010.

Yup...I downloaded everything off their site..which is pretty good, I must say. I'm thinking that the motherboard drivers weren't complete; I had another device that I had to install manually. But this one has me stumped. In the end it doesn't matter, as I can't tell what doesn't work.

Go and ask this over at
http://www.leog.net
There you will find a message board dedicated solely to Fujitsu P5000s.

Heh...actually that was the first place I checked.
I figured it out...for some reason the card reader drivers didn't load properly; this after the Intel motherboard drivers didn't completely load. I ran the setup *again* for the card reader and it took.
Some people's installer packages....
