I've discovered an odd bug on my iPAQ 5555. My programs often get closed after I power off my iPAQ then power it back on again. For example, I start Pocket Excel, then turn my iPAQ off. When I turn it back on, Pocket Excel has closed (it doesn't show in iTask). It happens with other programs, too.
I run with strong passwords OR fingerprints and a zero-minute "grace period". This is repeatable, and happens without the fingerprint allowed and with either PINs or strong passwords. If I turn all passwords off, my programs are still running when I turn my iPAQ back on.
I tried the same test on my daughter's Viewsonic V36, but the programs were still running, as expected.
Even stranger, I just tried setting a one-minute grace period. I started Excel, turned the iPAQ off, then back on within a minute. Excel was still running, but closed itself shortly thereafter, even though iTask showed it to be running. Clicking on the icon in iTask did not take me to Excel, though.
Does anybody else experience the same problem with an iPAQ 5555 (or any other iPAQ)? I do have a lot of other applications installed, so I suppose it could be a software interaction, but I thought I'd ask before I tried uninstalling programs or doing a hard reset.
One of the reasons I got the 5555 was because I wanted to use a 0-minute grace period for better security. I used a one-hour grace period on my 3870 because I hated typing the password in if I only turned the iPAQ off for a couple of minutes. With the fingerprint scanner, I figured swiping wouldn't be as annoying as typing (although I get way too many "No Image" errors ).
