The beta is a limited trial version intended to get user feedback and test compatibility on different PPCs and can be download from <a href="www.celeris.com/games/VPMobile/beta">Here</a>.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/Pool1.jpg" /><br /><br />"Virtual Pool Mobile is the way to take Virtual Pool on the road. You get Virtual Pool physics, 3D graphics, computer adversaries and even a career mode."<br /><br />"Work your way through 6 different pool rooms by beating the Room Boss and earning enough cash to travel to the next room. Each room has a different player and table. As you progress in your career the competition gets tougher and tougher and the bets go up!"<br /><br />I installed it and have to say that it looks pretty good so far. The graphics are very impressive and the gameplay really is fun. The cueing action on the pool table is well done and it really does feel like you are playing a game of pool. Definitely worth checking out and giving feedback to the developers to perfect it. :way to go:

Brilliant!! Virtual Pool 3 has always been among my favorite PC games. I'm not a particularly big gamer but a few have caught me and kept me coming back. VP3 is one of 'em. The gameplay of VPMobile on the PPC is as good as I could expect it, and far better than I was hoping for while I was downloading it. The graphics are fantastic, even the video of the big boss (who was that?) played flawlessly. The ball and table dynamics are very good. Only thing that worried me was that after 1/2 hour of gameplay my battery (original 900mah that came with my 2215) was down to 82% from a full charge. What is it doing that drained the juice so fast? Also need to have an option to disable the background music while keeping the sound effects up. I'm sure that will be there in the full version though. Great job Celeris!

By "limited" trial version, what does limited mean. Is there a certain number of times you can play it?

Edit--I read the page and found out it limits you to the first pool room. Should've read that first.

You can turn off the background music in the settings menu. You can get to menus during games with the d-pad

To bad I still suck at pool!

Ah - now that helps. It was not obvious how to quit a game in the middle of one. Cheers!

Interesting game. To hard to hit the que ball, and could result in easy scratches on the screen... Not a purchase I would make.

6 stars out of 10.... mainly for graphics.

I found it quite easy to to hit the que ball. As for scratches - I think that it is actually less scratch-prone than most other games. YMMV. :)
