I have an old 3970 that I was given through work almost a year ago. I need to send it back to my employer, but I'd like to hard reset it first. Problem is that I cannot remember how to - can anyone help me out??

Hold down the outer two of the four app buttons. Put your stylus in the reset hole while holding the buttons UNTIL the screen starts to disintegrate. Release everything (stylus hole and buttons), wait 60 seconds, and then soft-reset -- and it'll come up "like new".

if you have to, use your teeth to hold and push the stylus in the reset hole.

I find it much easier if you put the iPAQ on a table, preferably on one which it won't slide. Then, use two fingers on your right hand to hold down the app buttons (and potentially your right hand's pinky to help stabilize), and use the left hand to grip the stylus and insert it into the reset hole.

OK, that's probably too much detail. ;)

It's OK guys...

I held it with two hands, depressing the two buttons and then used my tounge to press the reset button.

8O :D

Who designed that hard reset sequence? And what drugs was he on?

One day, a man got his head stuck in a bucket full of crack. That was the day he invented the Pocket PC.
