SD Card...can't delete files.

I've done a search on this forum, and most of the people having problems with SD cards seem to be having slightly different problems involving mystery files, lost capacity, etc.

I am currently unable to delete files from my SD card (lexar 256 mb). I've attempted to format it using Storagetools and it would not allow it to be formatted.

Any suggestions?

Try to format it using a card reader on a desktop?

You may have accidentally switched the write protect switch to on. Try taking the card out and check the position of the write protect tab. That was the problem when exactly the same thing happened to me.

wow...talk about quick replies.

the switch on the write protect thing seems pretty flimsy...would it be worthwhile for me to try to tape it in place, or is that just asking for
trouble. it seems to be moving too freely.

yeah, i should have thought of that as well....i just didn't figure that it was being switched as it was entering the machine. duh.
