Lost my Ipaq 2215 in january after coming back from Japan, unable to retrieve it and since then I was forced to deal with A tungstenE wich I had bought as a back up device.
I was planning on sweating it out for a few months to see what new stuff would appear on the horizon and then either get that or buy something in may when im in the US for E3.
The e800 had been tempting me for a while and even tough I didnt really have the funds set aside for it I splurged and got it.
What a difference VGA makes, in standard qvga tough the screen seems stable but weird and everything seems too big(becouse of the physicaly larger screen as well I guess)
Reading and watching pictures is an absolute joy.
Toshiba might stop making these very soon tough.

Once you go VGA there's no going back. ;) Visit http://discussion.brighthand.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=281 for the best info. Why would Tosiba stop making the e805 soon?

Cangrats Fishie.
Indeed, why might they stop making them soon? If they did, surely they would have something better coming along?

As far as I know the margins on these are very small for Toshiba, retailers over here in Belgium where I looked in the past all told me it cant be reordered from Toshiba Belgium and the ones that do locate em get them from rest stocks in other Euro countries.
Toshiba is the biggest PPC seller in Japan where the Genio line is incredibly popular(the e400 was added a few months ago as a cheaper and small alternative to the 4inch qvga Genio´s) and apart from a single place that had a single US import unit the e800 was nowhere to be found in Akihabara, in short it isnt even released in its native country nor is Toshiba planning to do so despite the availability of its little brother.
The limited availability coupled with the fact that Toshiba didnt even bother releasing it in Japan leads me to believe that they used it as a test to see how the market would react to its features while they prop up its follow up machine with updated features and perhaps new OS.

On the Genio line, yes, they are uber popular in Japan. UBER POPULAR! Popular enough for them to port the e550 Genio E over to USia and other Western markets where it died too quickly. I caught one though, and am proud to carry on the Japanese tradition here in USia.
Me, I think they'll keep the e80X's around for a couple more months, at least until April and maybe through September. Just guesses, no facts.
Oh and this is O/T, but, would an e80X series screen protector work for my e550g? Thanks.
