This is absolutely amazing! Notice how he got this thing to work! I only thought these things existed in Red Alert 2 (PC Game)!!!
Obviously I am wrong!

So how do I get this to work with my Toshiba E800 in VGA mode?

That is OBVIOUSLY faked! I mean, look at that HUGE lens flare!

I'd like one of these in my driveway. I'd decorate it so it looks like a streetlamp and then when someone parks in front and blocks my driveway...BOOM! :mrgreen:

Maybe this thing is just SOOO big that at that moment it started blowing up or opening some sort of trans-dimensional time portal or something :D

That would be awesome! A smaller one might be a good way to scare off the cats that use my garden for a litter box.
<dig dig, scratch scratch>
<zap!>
<mreow!>
I'm talking very low voltages here - just enough to make the cat's fur puff out. The main deterrent would be that the other cats would make fun of it. :mrgreen:

It's a large static electric discharge. In the base is a small motor driving a rubber band (inside the tube) that "carries" a static charge to the "sphere". Once the charge is large enough on the sphere, watch out. Just like sliding out of your car on a dry cool day and having your hand popped when you touch the door to close. Humid days aren't good for these fun things though.
