can anyone point me to a free dictionary? had one for my palm that i really liked, but..

either a stand alone or one that requires a reader

80,000 words isn't good enough for you? Don't be fooled by the table of contents. It shows about 20 words under A, but those are just shortcuts to sections within the A's. The A section of the dictionary goes from page 20 to page 1367, for example. Give it a thorough try before jumping to conclusions.

PocketDict(http://www.cellosoft.com/software/view.php?id=42) is what I use.

I use the TomeRaider (http://www.tomeraider.com/) viewer (costs about $20 before any discounts), which really opens up a great field of free resources. The WordNet dictionary has 140,000 entries. You can find some of those files on the Tomeraider website - look for the file link the menu. Most of the files are hosted at MemoWare (http://www.memoware.com/?screen=main).
