I need to do a hard reset on my hp ipaq 5455 pda and dont know how?

Press and hold the two outer buttons (Calendar and iTASK) while pressing in holding for a couple of seconds the soft reset button with the stylus.

Failing that, you can always pull the main battery and let the device sit over night (or until the backup battery runs out of juice)...
