If you are looking for an all-in-one device this unit might serve you well. It features a Tri-band phone with video transmission, GPRS as well as fairly standard PPC specs but with a generous 64 MB of user-accessible RAM. AnexTEK is a newcomer in the hotly contested arena of our mobile companions but they’ve got a good many things right."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/s0.jpg" /> <br /><br />This is the first review I've seen of this phone, so go take a look!

What about WiFi. No WiFi, no sale. I am totally spoiled by my 4155.

If they had used a small display (say 2.5") the numeric keypad would be perfect as the device is small.... but if it is going to be big like any other Pocket PC, they should have added a full qwerty thumbboard (IMHO).

It's 3.5" ... good size to carry in your pocket... i love it the way it is.

Ditto. I can't get into a device without WiFi... :?

Is this another one of those - "it will be for sale in asia or pacific rim (minus USA) only" devices?

I don't know if you saw the update on the Pricing & Availability paragraph which I posted late last night (Australia time) but it will be available worldwide. However, that mainly depends on AnexTEK getting distibutors in those places...

Well, it does support SDIO, and the cool thing is it has GPRS so if you just want to check your email and stuff, if you're on an all you can eat GPRS plan (like I am) it's more than adequate... But if you want more speed, just throw an SDIO wifi card in and use that.

I for one cant' wait for this one. I'm tired of lugging around two devices.

I am personally holding out for the iPaq 6300 series. I considered the XDA2, but I am partial to hp support via the NBD exchange program. It is the best warranty money can buy, in my opinion. Device stops working, make a call, and the next day the new one arrives with a return box. I am pretty hard on devices, so I need this. If the 6300 has WiFi, and I can unlock it, I am getting one.

I could live with out the WiFi and use the SD when needed but it has to have Bluetooth and the screen needs to be 2.8ish to really make it pocketable. I'm starting to get tired of schleping the XDA II around.

So when is someone going to hack PPCPE into a Treo 600? :D

This is really cute but yeah I need wifi and BT too.

I agree I'm sure none of you guys mind if HP buys out Handspring so we can have a real man's OS instead of the POS on the treo 600

Hey, is it really that bad? I'm thinking of getting an XDA II if the 6300 comes out not to my liking.

Palm has already walked that path.

Am I the first to point out that this linky no worky? Didn't work yesterday, either.

I like the overall idea here. They basically ripped off the old Kyocera 6035 Palm OS phone design, which is a pretty good thing. My concerns are:
1) Part of the screen is still exposed. So, putting it in your pocket "naked" would still expose the screen to scratches.
2) It looks like it could be lacking for one-handed usage. There's a hard numeric keypad. That's great. I'm assuming there's a scroll/select wheel or something on the left side. That's OK, but I'd prefer an up/down button and some sort of select button, or even better a full D-pad on the front.
3) GSM/GPRS not so good for me. I'd prefer CDMA (Sprint or Verizon).
