Have you ever spent a few hours researching something on the internet, and then after a few pages through Google, maybe 25, just after a page that seemed to be ok for your purposes, you decide to go one link further, and so you get to a page that doesn't do it for you, and you want to click onto the backbutton on your browser to that page that was much better, but the darn thing is stuck on that same page that you really don't want to be on, because of some stupid Java script thingy or whatever, and now your research has to start all over again from page one, because you don't remember what page no. you were on before you got stuck and - what makes matters worse - you don't even remember the exact wording of what you researched so that now you get completely different results and even if you knew what page no. you were on before you got stuck, it wouldn't help... Has that ever happened to you, or am I the only one who thinks that this specific script should be made illegal???? :devilboy:

Oh well. At least after this rant I feel a little better

YES... I have had this happen numerous times and in MOST cases you can solve the problem by using the drop down menu next to the BACK button and selecting one entry further back. It works for me about 90% of the time. The other 10% - NO LUCK!

When doing GOOGLE searches I always open a new window/tab for each link that I follow that way I always have my search results in an open window. With MIE just press and hold the SHIFT key when you click on the link to open a new window. Wiith Mozilla, right click and select open in a new tab/window.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Right there with you K

I usually double click the back button if that happens so that it goes back twice. Or I use the drop down as someone else suggested.

Second that. Double click works half the time and drop down works (usually) if that doesn't. But it sounds like Karin may not know about the drop down.

In Internet Exploder click the little arrow next to the back button and it shows the last 10 (or so) pages in order that you've surfed them. Like so...

Also you can view the history by order visited rather than catagorized by site which I think is the default. (This is using Internet Exploder BTW)

Cool. 8) I really didn't know that. Thanks for pointing it out. Now, if I ONLY had known that one day earlier!! At least it's not going to happen anymore. I still think these scripts should be banned, together with those annoying popup windows!!!

annoying popup windows!!!
Get a popup blocker. Google's toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com) is free and it works great.
