Hi there, does anyone have this problem?
After playing with numerous activesync settings, it still happens.
It just suddenly turns on and doesn't turn off until i do it manually.
Thanks for all suggestions/replies!

Hmmm... my 5550 started doing this about two months ago. The only things I could suggest is catching it in the act and manually turning it off, or setting the power settings to turn off after x minutes even when on AC.

even with that setting on, it does not turn off.
I have the Backlight turn off fine, but with the turn off after x it's still on.
anyone have thoughts?

exact same problem !
did you find a fix for this?
btw. I'm using battery pack. I don't know if this might cause it...

if it's sitting on the cradle it doesn't turn off... I think if you unplug the USB cable then it should work fine.
my turning on problems have been solved!

yep, if it's not on the cradle, it turns off... maybe that's how they are supposed work...

try setting active sync to only sync manually... not at certain minute intervals.

I've tried to set it to only sync manually, but it turns on by itself anyway (and then doesn't sync). Also, the option to turn off after x minutes when on AC doesn't appear to work when the device is cradled. :?:

Hmm I had same issue, it was the active sync settings.
Set it to manual, and hasnt turned itself on since.

I'm using battery pack and I've not yet experienced this. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
