OK...now that I have my new domain and email setup so that I am not relying on Shaw .....I need to check into Telus's 1X data option.
I have tried Fido GPRS via bluetooth but the coverage I still find lacking and Rogers packages are expensive.
So if I stay with Telus and begrudgingly need to get a data.......ahem....cable to attach to my 2210 to a cell phone - what combination of Telus phone and cable for the Ipaq has anyone found to be a good combo?
TIA

Greetings Deemo,

Right now Telus is not the most PDA userfriendly cellular provider out there. The cables they have are for laptop use only and thier 1X aircards will only work with something that has a PCMCIA slot like a laptop or iPaq expansion sleeve.

You might have to go after market to find a cable that will connect your 2210 with one of the cellphones Telus has going right now.

I was using a Socket CF DPC to dailup Cadvision (hmmm...that seems oh so long ago) with my Jornada.
I have a Motorola 7868 now and am planning on upgrading.
I know there were a few post regarding cables on Brighthand and I can search that topic - but I am mainly concerned about which phone.
All lack Bluetooth and IR.
I just want to know what combo people are using that is successful.

I find Telus' coverage to be far superior to Rogers, especially around here. I have no idea about Fido's coverage though as I've never tried them, because their CSR claimed they have xero coverage here. But the only way to connect a Telus phone to a PDA is with a cable, and those will be extremely difficult to find. I'd suggest www.gomadic.com for a cable but other than that I'd say your only hope is with a phone that supports irda or Bluetooth from Rogers or Fido.

I have a phone on Rogers and have no issues connecting to the net via bluetooth, when I can get a cellular signal with them.

I am of a similar opinion. I spend most of my time in large centres though so coverage is usually quite good. Being a gadget freak, the ability to simply move my SIM card to a new device is too convenient. I don't see myself leaving GSM for quite a while.
