Are you looking for a development platform? The Visual Basic equivalent for Pocket PCs is eVB (eMbedded Visual Basic)

Check it out here

Use the 'search' function for more info

The only thing is that I am running with a Jornada... so the processor isnt ARM just SH3. I have a feeling that if I want VB then I'm pretty much not going to get it.

Well, the last old Jornadas were ARM... the -really- old Jornadas used the SH3 processor. You can use embedded vb - freely available from MS.

So it WILL work on SH3?

Just to clarify, are you wanting to write an app in VB on your desktop that will run on your PPC? Or are you wanting a version of VB that will allow you to develop on your PPC (as opposed to for your PPC)?

You also want to download the API for the processor you are writing for

That's what I thought. Most (if not all) of the discussion here has been about development apps on the desktop (eVB and eVC++ for example). Micosoft doesn't have a development app that runs on the Pocket PC. There are a couple available, though I haven't used them.

NS Basic/CE (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productType=2&jid=AEFB91C9B4X7821X99C13E67F3E13FAX&platformId=2&sortBy=name&siteId=1&productId=64595&sectionId=1539&posit=75&order=asc&catalog=30&topSectionId=1420) is one.

Are there any I can test on my PPC before buying?

Other than NSBasic?

Exactly what is it you're trying to "develop on the go"? Pocket PCs aren't meant to be the best development devices, and NS Basic/CE is about as good as you can get.

What are you trying to develop? Why are you developing it on your Pocket PC? What sort of distribution are you looking for in your developed software?

I have a lot of spare time, and I wanted to just be able to develop for fun.

As per NSBasic I'm not saying that I just want to see what it is like on the PPC before cashing in 150 bucks... :)
