"568 Upgrade"
First let me say that I haven't been in love with any PDA since I traded in my Jornada 568. I loved that machine and the fliptop keyboard which I ended up giving away through this board.
After total frustration with my 2215 and it's inability to "get a grip" or should I say "keep on it's dumb grips", I finally traded it in yesterday. I had read about the new ipaqs but like many of you, I thought the pics of the 4355 looked ridiculous and had poor function. For the 68,000th time in my life let me say that I was wrong. I am now the proud owner of this puppy and it's fantastic. Though no pda is perfect for everyone, I believe the 4355 is the first real upgrade from HP of the old 568 Jornada. I have typed more with in one day than I have in a week with my portable keyboard. The minute I held it in my hand.... Ok I'm starting to sound ridiculous.
Let me just say that in my quest for smaller and smaller pdas, my hands never changed. This thing is light, well balanced, thin, and yet my thumb is not forced to wrap around the top when I try to hold it. Maybe that's why I've dropped so many. I could go on- BATTERY LIFE, wifi, btooth, keyboard, it's great.
Now I just need to convince myself to let it go for few days to let pctechs add some memory, (maybe not), and then see what the great folks at Vaja will do for this thing.
Thanks for reading and thanks HP.
By the way, isn't it funny how the ipaq started to evolve into a better product by ditching it's original design in favor of a more modern "Jornada" look.
Long live the Jornada legacy.
Happy again,
pdaided
