Does anyone know exact hardware compatibility specifications for Mobile 2003? I have a iPaq 3600 series upgraded with 128mb ram and a 32mb rom I would like ot put it on. Any ideas?

You will want to check out HP's website to see what models can be upgraded. MS released WM2003, it's up to the manufacturer as to which of their models can be upgraded.

Unfortunately, if my memory serves correctly, the oldest iPAQ series that can be upgraded to WM2003 is the 3800 series. I maybe wrong and hopefully for you I am.

Best regards,

Technically, the 3600 series CAN be upgraded, especially if you have had a RAM upgrade. However, HP chose NOT to make an upgrade available for 3600 and 3700 Series iPAQ's.

To my knowledge, Jason has the only WM2003 upgraded iPAQ. He got it due to his MVP status and for a project he was doing for MS...I think. The ROM isn't available from anyone, anywhere, and I don't even know if Jason kept it in an upgraded form (or if he even still has the device).

Bottom line, HP feels that if you want the new OS, you will need to purchase an iPAQ 3800 or better device. Sorry dude, but I think you're out of luck...

Kind Regards,
