What A Place !

A friend directed me to this forum and I cant beleive all the help it has given me so far.

In an earlier thread everyone was listing their favorite must haves for their pocket pc. The one that ive been searching for that was listed in a lot of them is BATTERY PACK.

Can anyone tell me the best place to get that from and does it get any cheaper than 19.95 ?

Im just looking for a program that will put my power level, memory , and any icons I want on my today screen. Is this the program I should be using ?

Any help would be appreciated....thanks

There's a number of programs of that variety that are freeware and/or cheap. I've used tdLaunch and one other program (can't remember the name right now) that uses tabs for the icons.

Yup, Battery Pack is what you should be using. It was one of my very first programs I bought when I bought my first PPC last year.

I use Pocket Plus which is $10 and has a trial period, and also has other features. Haven't some people had issues with Battery Pack? Also $20 seems a bit steep especially if that is all the program does.

Generally with PPC software, the companies are small(sometimes just one person) and the price is set by the developer, whatever web site you buy it from is just a middleman. Like the physical building of a mall, each individual store inside the mall sets their own prices, and generally speaking, in the same city, if you go to The Gap in 3 different malls, you're going to find the same prices at all 3; the sales and specials are usually the same too(not counting clearance). So sometimes PPC software does go on sale, if that happens you'd most likely find out about it from the developer's own web site(or here!), but for the most part, the price is the price whether you go to Handango or Pocket Gear or whatever.

BUT, if you become a subscriber here you get access to some fun discounts which at least at one time included 15% off any single order from Handango! Not sure if that one's still available. There are deals on single programs too. But if you want a better price you're generally looking for a coupon rather then shopping to different web sites.
