Hi All,

I can't seem to find anything out there on google for this question so here goes...

I mapped a share drive in WM2003 using File Explorer using a username/password that I no longer want to associate w/ my PPC. Does anyone know of any way to delete/remove the saved account/password? I've got a registry editor <!> but I don't know where to begin looking... Any help would be much appreciated!

I have heard that if you go into connection manager and delete the Work account, soft reset, and then recreate it, you will delete the password. Haven't tried it myself.

Thanks for the response. I tried to delete the "Work" connection (I had renamed it to something else but I dont know if this matters), but the "delete" button was greyed out. I suppose since it was one of the default connections WM2003 is reluctant to let me get rid of it?

In any case, I tried to create a new connection profile and used that to connect/sync etc., but still have been unable to shake the same user ID. Whenever I map a new share, regardless of the server, it uses the ID that I had saved. I hope I don't have to hard boot this one to fix it. :?

Try this, if you change the account password on the PC, and then reboot to make it effective. Then try to connect from your PocketPC you should get a screen that shows it failed to connect, and then offers you a chance to change the password. I believe this is your only option, other than a hard reset. The Hard reset will clear the password, the other option will allow you to change it only.

thanks again. it's definitely worth a shot. i may not be able to change the password on the account, so i may have to resort to the hard reset.
