<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.pocketpctools.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.pocketpctools.com/</a><br /><br /></div>Barry Shilmover, the man behind Pocket PC Tools, has some bad news to share with the community:<br /><br />"In the last 18 months this site has gone from an idea to basic site to what it is today. While I have lots in the work (new review portal, etc), I just cannot afford to run it anymore... In December, my Co-Lo went bankrupt and I have been hosting it at work ever since. Usage is up (which is a good thing), we have had 1.7 million page hits since we started. My work has asked me to find another home for this site and I just don't have the money to do so (I have yet to pay for my hosting and cost of the server, etc). Unfortunate, as this looks like our best month ever.<br /><br />I am also getting busier with everything else I have been doing and just cannot find the time to post all the reviews and news items that I have come across. I feel that my only option is to shut the site down. If you have ideas or would like to post (partially take over) this site, we can chat. Not sure how long the site will be up... but I will keep it live as long as I can."<br /><br />If anyone's interested in helping Barry, his contact info is on the site.

Was Pocket PC Tools a good site to anyone who knows it really well? I am going to browse it.

I had never heard of the site before today. Took a look at its pretty cool. Unfortunately I don't know much about hosting a web site sorry. But hopefully it can be kept alive.

www.penguinhost.net is very cheap and cheaper if you pay quarterly or yearly. has all the cool php stuff and so on. I use itfor my godmodesite. www.powweb.com too is quite cheap.

http://www.t35.com/hosting.html has a free solution. They seem to have quite some possibilities and everything is unmetered - just that files can't be larger then 250KB.
It has pop-unders, but maybe that could work for a bit?
I don't know exactly how much they charge if you want to use your domain name - I think there are also free/cheap forwarders out there if need be.
