Bring it on for the 41xx series.

:? Can this actually be made for the 41xx series? AFAIK, they don't have those nubs on the back to attach the cover too. Or am I mistaken?

The review should have indicated the dimensions of the 2210 plus case. I am concerened that the reviewer indicated that the case is too thick for easy button access. That probably translates into an appreciable thickening of the 2210 which leads me to wonder if the 2210 plus case is pocketable.

I just got a clear case from JavoEdge for my iPAQ 1935 today. I'll have to play with it for a few days to see what I really think of it, but so far, I really like the way it looks when my ppc is in it.

When I first pulled it out of the box, it seemed flimsy and very delicate, but with the ppc in it, it feels like a sturdy plastic shell and forms to the device really nicely. Now I can confidently carry my ppc in my front pocket and not worry about it.

Anyway, just thought I would post my initial thoughts for now. I may start a new thread on this case later for a more in-depth review. For now, you can check out the site, where they have clear cases for many different pda's.

One thing I wish for is a palm V type flip cover...like the one that come with the Palm V in the box.

While it didn't offer much protection, it kept anything from hitting the screen while in my pocket, which is all I really need.

Somebody please make one!!! (for the HP 19xx)

I've had one for a couple of weeks now - I bought it to replace a Vaja leather case with belt clip which was to big for a suit pocket - the clip was a big mistake.

I like it and will continue using. It is particularly usefull for reading things like Repligo documents as you can navigate and read with the flip closed and if travelling I can easilly slip the ipaq back into my pocket - unlike the Vaja.

Downsides:

It is already becoming scratched.

I have also had the stylus thing fall out on me a couple of times - there is a knack to both using it to push the stylus out and holding it when you push it back.

It can be difficult to open the cover when you have headphones attached to the Ipaq.

That said, I will probably buy my wife one and a replacement for myself if it becomes to scratched (and be more careful next time) as it does add to the utility of the iPaq.

PS. Found the price difference between Javo and Ipaqcases to largely disapear when postage was taken into account.

While I personally wouldn't use this case (as I love my metal, side opening case for my 22xx), I can see the usefullness for those that read alot.

IanT, you may be able to use either a normal screen protector on the front of the case to prevent scratches that make it difficult to read or some clear vinyl (like the static stickers for cars). I'm not sure how well it sould fit if the case has a rounded face, but if it's flat, that should protect the "viewing window" for quite some time.

Good point, thanks, hadn't thought of that. My experience with screen protectors is not good - kind of sticky - gathers dust.

Ordinary sticky back plastic maybe.

I've had my clear case for a few weeks now. The only problem I've had is the stylus ejection. I never got the little ejection tool with it (or it fell out of the package before I saw it!). So I always carry and use a pen type stylus, which is nicer to use anyway.
It fits very well into the pocket... very smooth and sexy looking, and I've had many comments.
Yes, mine has got scratched a bit but that really not a great issue because I wouldn't suggest that you normally spend much time reading the screen through the case. I just look to see what the alarm is saying, and flip open the case to acknowledge or snooze.
The case never accidentally opens in transit, and it keeps it very well protected. I'd buy another one, and I guess that's the best recommendation I could give.

A couple of questions for those that have this case...

1. One of the most important things I need the case to do is stop it from sliding off the excersize bike in the gym. I flip the lid back and hang it over the back of the console which I would say is at about a 45 degree angle. Ive used leather cases from vaja and piel frama for this and it works great. Will this case work for that or do you think I'd need to put some rubber dots on the bottom edge since this plastic is obviously more slick than leather?

2. How well do you think this case would protect the PDA in a short drop compared to a leather case?

Thanks!

You do exercise??
The case is pretty slippery, so I would think you would need some way of ensuring it stays on the console. Trouble is anything permanently fixed to the case will destroy the sleekness of it, and the easy way it slips in and out of your pocket.
As far as durabilty goes, although I'm not prepared to try it, I would think that with the case closed it would protect it quite well. They have used the same polycarbonate they use for unbreakable glassware etc. In saying that, there is an advantage with leather cases that they are soft, so when you drop them there is a slight cushioning.

Somehow this post got lost...

I've had mine for a few weeks now and really like it. It has a few scratches from bumping around in my purse with my cell phone, but nothing major. I really like the firm protection it gives the screen. Also it is very useful to be able to see notifications without taking it out of its case.

brianbar: if you send the javoedge folks an email perhaps they will replace your stylus notch piece. They seem really supportive.

Yea, I actually dropped almost 50 lbs this year! Anyway, yea I flip the flipcase lid back and the lid hangs over the back of the console so the pda rests on the console right at the top. The flip lid holds the pda in place... I was just wondering with the dual hinged thing on the clearcase, the lightness of it, and the slickness of the plastic, if people thought this would work with the clear case like it does with leather?

Thanks...
