missed calls doesnt go away

i currently have the ppc phone edition and everytime i have a missed call...there is an icon next to the service icon that has a picture of a phone with an exclamation mark on it. When i click it it sez the # of missed calls n it allows me to click on view or close..

when i click view and view the missed calls and i go back to the Today Screen, the missed calls button is still blinking although i've already checked my missed calls

is there a way to get rid of this?
