The Thoughts community is indeed a great place. I have spent a great deal of time here during the last two years. As a Contributing Editor it feels like I have had a front row seat at a show about the "Success of Windows Mobile". I went to the show more than five years ago and with a little good will and imagination, perhaps, I have maybe played a small part in it.

I am now joining my friend and fellow community member Marlof Bregonje in becoming Editor Emeritus. My day job, also Pocket PC related, and other obligations keep me from posting as much as I used to on Pocket PC Thoughts.

This means that I won't keep up with daily front page posts, seven days a week. However, I will continue to write an occasional front page article, primarily related to enterprise and application development. I have already shared my personal Pocket PC love story and being an Editor Emeritus will allow me to, every now and then, articulate my passion for all things Windows Mobile. With regards to my other undertakings, such as running business anyplace, writing for MSDN Mobility and occasional newsgroup postings -- I will continue to be out there.

So, friends. I am leaving. And staying. Let's continue keeping this community a great place! See you around!

Don't go too far! Your contribution to the whole Pocket PC scene has been fantastic - I've enjoyed "Pocket PC Development for the Enterprise", even if I haven't managed to do anything with it yet :-)

It is work like that that makes it easier to see how these wee beasties might be used to do things other than play games all the time :D

Best wishes for your future.

Farewell Andy,

You were, so many times, among our best sources for information !

See you around, and if you ever consider replacing your climate out there for a warmer one, we shall always welcome you here, in Israel..

Wishing you the best,

Saar

Andy,

Sorry to hear that you're moving on. I really enjoyed your front page contributions. I hope our paths will cross again, either in the forums here or someplace else.

Andy,

It's been fun and enlightening. Needless to say I'll miss your postings, but I know you will still be posting here and elsewhere. You've been around for a long time - remember when the first Pocket PC forums started? You'll be around for a while yet. Good luck!

Ken

Arrgh! Andy is the only link Pocket PC Thoughts front page has to the development community. I hate to see him go - our developer forum is anemic enough with all his hard work. I hate to see what becomes of it now.

I guess I'll have to visit www.businessanyplace.net more often now.

That's what I was thinking. Andy, any chance you can add an RSS feed on BusinessAnyplace??

I couldn't have said it better myself. Your front page posts have been among the most informative and will definitely be missed. Thank you again for your great contributions, and I hope we cross paths again one day. :byebye:

Jeez...first Marlof....and now Andy? What next, is Jason leaving?

Life goes on, things change. Marlof and Andy have been with me for almost three years, and they're still a part of the site, although their role has changed over time. Fear not, I'm not planning on leaving. :D

I want to clarify that Andy's role here isn't changing that much - he'll still post on things when he feels like it, when he has a thought to share, or finds some interesting news. This mostly means that he's out from under my lash as a Contributing Editor and gets to enjoy the leisurely retirement of an Editor Emeritus...

What I meant to say is that the *regular* front page posts will be missed - after all, when one visits the site every four hours one needs something to read

Indeed. Fear not, we're bringing on at least one, perhaps two, new Contributing Editors. :D

If you're addicted to PPCT like the rest of us, you'll be checking back from time to time. Good luck!!!

I will look into that as well as begin more frequent developer news postings there. Right now, we post only when we've got a new article posted or have new source code available.
