Another poll for the sake of a poll - what was the lowest temperature last night in the city you live in? Not counting wind cheat or heat index, mind you!

Although it was an easy -30 F here in Wisconsin yesterday (with wind chill), I'll be reporting a mediocre -4 F.

I've included Celcius for all of you who live in civilized countries.

A nice night in Melbourne - slept with just the sheet no blankets or doona (Australian for Duvee)

Warm day today - up around the 37 C mark

I think it was -2 C last night, but we're supposed to hit plus-8 by Thursday.

Don't feel like converting right now, I'm going to bed. I think is was somewhere in the teens though.

Yep, I'm in Madison too and I can confirm that it was COLD! How does the saying go? Madison is 50 square miles surrounded by reality? Last night it was more like 50 sq. miles of COLD surrounded by reality.. :-)

To get into my car yesterday morning I had to open my wife's car to get the scraper out so that I could use it to pry MY car door open. Then I had to pour hot water on the windows just to get the ice thin enough to scrape off!

By the way, Kati, you'll get a kick out of this- (as long as we're in the off topic thread) my wife and 2 year old were at the Dr. Martin Luther King celebration at the square yesterday, and she literally bumped into Gov. Doyle! Then she said "hey look Quinn, it's the MAYOR of our city"!! He gave her the weirdest look and just kept walking.

Madison rules!

Here's what fellow members in Northeast Wisconsin can look forward to (just got it from the Nat'l. Weather Service):

WEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH AND AIR TEMPERATURES BELOW ZERO WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILLS OF 25 TO 35 BELOW ZERO LATER TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY. FROST BITE CAN OCCUR WITHIN 10 MINUTES ON EXPOSED SKIN... AND POSSIBLY LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF YOU ARE NOT DRESSED PROPERLY.

Welcome to Wisconsin.

Man...-11°F Clear with windchill to -33°F here, my kids didn't even put up an argument when I suggested that snow pants might be a good idea for the bus stop!

Looking forward the seven day forecast shows temp will be up...even as high the mid twenties...of course they also have snow in the forecast for the next 6 days!

My friends in California are still stunned when I tell them that it warmed up 20 degrees and the temp is only 10°F. They pause while the mental math sinks in and then inform me that I am nuts to live here. I dunno...I kinda like winter...I sure appreciate spring/summer a whole lot more!

Chicago, almost as bad as up there.....except with more wind (today anyways)...Thank HEAVENS we replaced our 45yr old windows over the summer.

I'm amazed the pundits haven't started shouting ICE AGE! like they were back in 1979-80.

It's now 1F / -14F... I wonder if that extra "warmth" will make my face hurt less on the way back to the car...

I think this thread now wins the award for most instances of a sarcastic "balmy".
