HELP! Power button does not turn i700 off or on.

HELP! :(

I have been having a problem with my i700 since friday. I cannot seem to normally turn off the i700 by the power button (nor turn it on). Once on, either I wait the few minuted for it to turn off autimatically or I must remove the battery to turn it off. If off, I can only turn it on by doing a soft reset.

If I press the power button while its on, the screen will blink off for a split second and remain on.

I have only had this i700 for a month now and have done nothing out of the ordinary with it and have not loaded any apps within the past 2 weeks.

I did a hard reset and cleared out the memory, but the problem still persists.

Has anyone seen this before??

Any help would be grateful.

I have not had this problem with my i700.

Out of curiosity, when it's off, do pressing other buttons turn it on (assuming you have the default settings for the other buttons)? If not, it has nothing to do with the power button.

When its off, its off. No buttons can turn it on. I have to do a soft reset to get it on.
