Newbie question about the 1910

I decided to purchase a new toy and after much research,I decide to get the 1910,due to its size,screen,and the fact I have no need for wireless stuff.The one I got on Ebay has the newer pxa-255 processor and I understand that you can speed it up to 400 MHZ with software,so my question is will it be as fast as the newer 1945??

Probably not. The 1945 runs Windows Mobile 2003, which has a slew of performance improvements, and the 266MHz Samsung processor rivals the newest XScales. In addition, I've heard the 1910 isn't uniformly stable at 400MHz; most people who overclock it run it at 300MHz.

That said, the 1910 at 200MHz or 300MHz is still a pretty decent unit, with a killer screen. :)

I think I did ok on the price($170 ebay),I have been looking for these guys with the PXA-255 chip,and they are fairly hard to find.Believe it or not,one just sold on Ebay for $287.Part of me is glad it can not expand,that just means less accessories I am tempted to buy :D

kaitanium you are EVIL :twisted: The 1910 has not even been shipped yet,and I went to the local electronics shop and upgraded to a 1945 :? Damm it I wish I never started...................maybe not,I think this will be a FUN toy :mrgreen:

haha how am i evil? i didnt quite catch it...i hope youre joking :lol: is it because i said that you will want to expand? hehe...if so can i add one more thing...perhaps youll want a 2200 too since it adds another expansion slot =P, who knows you may find yourself needing memory...so stick a sd card in, then you maybe finding yourself wanting a camera...so stick that into the cf slot...ok ill shut up

Yea I was just kidding..............boy did I come close to getting a 2015,but in the end the smaller size of the 1945 won out.Too bad because I already have a camera that uses CF cards.

Got to admit, if it wasn't for HP releasing h1940 and now h4150 and my wireless needs, I would have stuck with my h1910. Great device and the screen was simply awesome, still to be matched or bettered by HP themselves.
