It looks like it only adds support for the extended battery... if that is the case I think I will pass on the upgrade.

I just clicked on your link and got "Sorry Page can't be found".
can you please check this again?
Funny thing is I was just about to ask if anyone knew of any updates for the 2215 from MS or HP.

See if this (http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/download/20081.html)works for you.
It does look like this just an extended battery update. As I don't have one, I don't see the need.
Good point about the lack of a Bluetooth update. I don't understand why this wasn't included.
As for MS Messenger and Reader updates, I wouldn't be surprised to find that Microsoft has control over this process.

JR,
That link works, Thanks.
I have found the MS Messenger upgrade, but do you know where the MS reader upgrade? I did a search and I found one for 1.5 but not the upgrade for 2.2.1.

This is where I got my MS reader update. It works with all the free eBooks MS had for download this summer...

i think that was a very poor choice. why waste usefull user ram when they could just put all those patches in the rom. things like that upset me :/

Thank you for the link Mark.
Has anyone sent an email inquiry to the help desk and inquired if any other fixes are included on the ROM update? Are the descriptions always accurate on the dowmload pages?

i couldnt agree more! since the bluetooth update is more important than the battery update why didnt they put both to the rom?

Just did some reading in the discussions off HP's Business Customer Discussion Groups off the HP web site...
The rom update, its contents, or lack of... are discussed here... http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?threadId=376806
Basically, it appears this update is the same as what is on the CD that comes with the extended battery. It was suggested that HP put it up on the site in case people who purchased the battery "lost" their cd??
In any case, I'd love to have the MS Reader, MSN Messenger, and Bluetooth updates added to ROM rather than taking up RAM. Those three updates take up almost 5 Meg of RAM for me :(
Since this is my first pocket PC, I have to ask, how long does this take to get an updated ROM with these types of fixes??
