View Full Version : *Yawn* Not too much action going on lately.

Things have been remarkably quiet since the release of the Toshiba e800. Not much is happening. I bout an iPaq h1935 a little while ago, and while I would like to see some hot new stories on PPCThoughts, I'm also a little relieved my cheap little guy is still about as hot as they come.
Well, there's OS6. Woo.
I guess I should just be patient. After all, PPC fans have a lot to look forward to, especially the (hopefully just mysteriously quiet) proliferation of VGA screens.
download some apps or learn how to code. There are plenty of freebie apps around to try too.

tad harsh, don'tchathink? Skoobouy (AIR) is a longtime PDA user, and I think he's right on the money....as in the money of the overall PDA market tapering off and heading slowly down until something evolves to take it's place or at least displace it somewhat. I agree that nothing has WOW'd me for the last few months, except for maybe the Tungsten E (which was still about a year too late IMO). It's a big yawn as of late, even the CES (IMO) news.

I think his point is that the general PPC arena has been kinda slow.
I actually agree. Nothing new. Nothing exciting. Sure the Toshibas are nice, but two new handhelds does not a year make.
I don't consider the announcements terribly exciting because announcements have a way of never materializing.
In short? I agree :-)

Sure, but it's not surprising. PDAs, just like everything else, are cyclic. I think we'll see some interesting action in about 6 months... we've just about finished the previous cycle.

I agree, I have feeling that way of late, just really bored about it or lacking interest. I have a Toshiba e355 that I have only had a few months due to my last pda being stolen. I am not complaining because it gets the job done.
I would like to say a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT on ppc's this year, but for some reason I have my doubts. I was hoping for a good reason to upgrade but I cannot say that I have found any at all.
I think I find it more interesting to look at software than to look at pda's.

I agree. But even the software front seems a little quiet these days. Ho Hum. Yawn.

I for one am happy it has slowed down a bit. :) I just got my first PPC and although it has been on the market for 7 months, (I will semi-quote Skoobouy) my 2215 is still a hot little number. This quiet period will give me some time to get to know all about PPCs before anything ground breaking comes out (excluding the Tosh E800) and I head into my first experience of "I gotta have the latest and greatest PPC NOW!" fits.
I am not looking forward to my first PPC envy. :?
Again I am excluding the Tosh E800... well because it's a Tosh after all (for lack of support and some boo boos in the past) and if the E800 belonged to HP, Dell or Asus, well then I would be having my first fits right about now. :D
I am new and having a 2215 is very exciting for me because basically, although I am catching on quickly, I still have a long way to go before I get the blues when there isn't a lot of hot action going on in the PPC world.
I am hoping the 6 month boon estimate is accurate.
