Now that I know pre-rotating movies eliminates diagonal tearing on my iPAQ 2215 I'd really like to try the same thing with WM9 movies. Not only do I get diagonal tearing, I get blocky playback and I'm curious of playing a rotated WM9 movie gets rid of this like it did with DivX and PocketMVP.
I gave it a shot and Windows Media Encoder had no rotate plug-in that I saw. I tried Windows Movie Maker and it crashed as soon as I chose rotate. Just to test it I rotated a MPEG1 movie 90 degrees using Vdub and DivX and then encoded that to WM9. Then I found out Windows Media Player will not play rotated movies properly.
Oh, bother. No wonder I hate MicroSoft. They never allow for the simplest of things. This is all easily done using Vdub and PocketMVP.
Does anyone know of a work around for this? Is there another WM9 pocket movie player?
