has anyone tried using the new drivers for the new f8t001 v2 with the old v1?
I've heard that the new one replaces the old one and they won't be releasing releasing any new drivers for the old v1.
the v2 drivers are 33 meg, though. since i'm using dial up i don't want to try myself.
also, does anyone know the range of the ipaq 2210? the dongle says it's 100m range, but i can't get anywhere near that.

The driver install will ask for a key file, since the v1 hardware will have a MAC address not in the range defined for the newer driver versions. You can hack, but not good stuff.
All PDA have a 10m range.

ok thanks.
here's a question though. how come when i try to play oggs off my desktop through bluetooth it skips and stutters. i used to be able to play them fine until i recently hard reset my device and reinstalled everything.
I can put the ipaq right next to the transmitter but it doesn't help.

Are you playing over the Bluetooth LAN access to your Pocket PC, or via ActiveSync over Bluetooth (passthrough)?

actually it's not oggs. it's mp3's. my bad.
And if i remember right, bluetooth doesn't have the bandwidth to stream 128 kbps files, right?
I tried oggs and they work ok. if your wondering, i am not using activesync and passthrough, just normal network connection.
i wish there was some way to increse speeds. i've got a wifi cf card (ambicom) but can't get it to work, and i don't know if it's the cf or the pci card(realtek) in my pc.
