I miss my 3955. I can't vent enough on how slow my new 5555 is. Menus take forever to open, applications take longer to close. What is wrong with this ppc? :( I don't have a lot of apps installed.

Do you have the Battery Pack application from OmegaOne installed. I have an Ipaq 5555 and when I installed Battery Pack the PDA slowed to a snails pace. I uninstalled Battery Pack and everything went back to normal. I have the same application on my Ipqa 4355 and the 4355 works at normal speed. I believe the problem might be with the Biometric Fingerprint Reader application on the 5555.

Just a thought.

I use the Pocket Monitor that comes with Sprite Pocket Backup. I don't use the biometric fingerprint reader, so I took that app out of startup. I will try removing Pocket Monitor from starting up and see how that works.

Thanks for your reply.

Not sure if this applies, but I am careful with the freeware apps out there.

My 4155 runs great, one morning I loaded about 4-5 freeware apps, such as Today enhancements, vid driver upgrades, file explorers and a couple of games. After doing soft reset the machine was VERY slow.

Had to hard reset and start over. I guess not all apps get along with all cpu's.

Have you installed Scary Brea Software notification fix?

Go here:

Install the bottom application. Load it on. Then soft reset your device. Let us know if that helps.

That seems to have resolved the problem. I will continue to use it and will get back with you in a few days. Thank you very much.

Activesync is VERY slow and may not sync at all. Have you guys seen this?

Thanks,

Robert

How are you synching? USB? Bluetooth? Wi-Fi?

Activesync takes a long time when I get the "looking for changes," but once it gets started it's done in literally 5 seconds.

I have an iPaq 5555...

Is your pocket pc staying fast, and is just activesync that is slow?

Yes, which method are you using to connect?

I am syncing via USB. My 5555 stays fast and I have the same problem with Activesync: Looking for changes takes a few minutes (and sometimes times out), but once in, syncing is very quick.

Thanks,

Rob

Sounds like a problem on your Desktop PC to me... Anything unusual about your PC setup? Are you using a VPN for email or anything like that?
Have you double checked your PC ActiveSync settings?

If all else fails, you could try uninstalling ActiveSync from your PC and then reinstall it...

robclif4d- Sorry I can't help you with the Activesync problem, but I am happy your pda is staying fast! Remember whenever you hard reset, install that software that I posted the link to.

Oh my goodness! 8O The PPC had 484 events registered. Thanks for the software link :)

I'm unsure it made the PDA any faster, but its good to know dupicates were eraticated!

Will there be a patch to ppc windows 2003?
